Timor Leste Solidarity Medal - Order Guide
Foxhole is a one-man operation again. My standards, my care, my hands doing the work. I have had to make this version of Foxhole the most streamlined it has ever been because I also need to confirm paid orders, collect medals from the post office, mount medals, pack, and ship.
I need all customer contact to be email only to maximise the time I have got available. And if you can find the answers to your questions here and then order online, you have genuinely freed me up to keep working through orders and my waiting list.
How I think about medals
Where possible: originals with originals, replicas with replicas. The new OQ TLSM is visibly different to the replica and will sit proudly alongside your originals.
Wear replicas, not originals
No one wears their originals thinking they will lose them, but it happens. And often. Foxhole exists so you can wear replicas with pride and without risk.
Engraving: Use PMKeyS where both PMKeyS and service number exist. Available on full size medals only (miniatures are too small to engrave).
Matching ribbon bars: Do not forget a new matching ribbon bar if your existing one does not include the TLSM. Rosettes can be reused, include them with your medals.
Please have a go at your online order. I personally check every order before picking stock, completing, packaging, and shipping.

The TLSM is now available to personnel with a minimum of 30 days service on mandated missions in Timor-Leste since June 1999. This includes ADF members and veterans, Australian Federal Police, Defence Cooperation Program members, and personnel withdrawn due to injury or medical necessity.

Neither the Australian Government nor the Timor-Leste Government is currently issuing original TLSMs to eligible personnel. The Timor-Leste Government issued the original TLSMs at the time of award. If you served eligibly and did not receive one then, you cannot request one from either government now.
Foxhole's OQ TLSM is an Australian-made, original-quality medal produced to the same specification as official issue.
The replica TLSM is a more affordable option for wear without risk.
Yes. INTERFET personnel who completed the minimum 30 days of service in Timor-Leste are eligible for the TLSM.
Contact the Timor-Leste Embassy in Canberra to confirm your eligibility. They are the authority on individual entitlement. Foxhole cannot determine eligibility on your behalf.
Using the latest practise for new Australian official awards as a precedent, Foxhole recommends PMKeyS engraving.
PMKeyS is the most current service identifier and is what the Directorate of Honours and Awards would use for any new official awards.
Engrave PMKeyS, initials, surname for consistency with the current standard.
Note: engraving is available on full size medals only. Miniature medals are too small to engrave.
The first-issued original TLSMs were not engraved.
Foxhole offers engraving to preserve service information for future generations, the same way engraved Australian WW1 and WW2 medals serve today's generation as a record of who wore them.
Yes, in time. The Directorate of Honours and Awards processes additions to PMKeyS records, but the volume of TLSM additions following the April 2026 eligibility expansion means processing will take time.
To have Foxhole add the new replica TLSM to your existing replica set:
- Add the new replica TLSM (full size and/or miniature, court-mounted) to your cart.
- Add the appropriate Recycle Replica fee for each existing medal in your set.
- Add a new matching ribbon bar if your existing one does not include the TLSM. Rosettes can be reused, include them with your medals.
- Post your existing replica set to Foxhole using Express Post.
If you mount your own medals or use a local mounter:
For OQ TLSM: choose the Presentation Set with spare ribbon, or one of the individual loose medal options, from the OQ TLSM product page. Set Mounting Preference to Provide as ordered.
For replica TLSM: choose the loose replica option (full size and/or miniature) plus matching ribbon from the replica TLSM product page.
