A member mentioned in despatches (MID) for service 1914 to 10th of August 1920 wears a bronze spray of oak leaves on the ribbon of the campaign medal. Only one emblem is worn no matter how many times a member may have been ‘mentioned’. When a ribbon alone is worn a slightly smaller (miniature) insignia is worn as a ribbon emblem.
Most commonly seen on the ribbon of the WW1 Victory Medal, the MID can also be worn on the ribbon of the General Service Medal, and the Naval General Service medal among others.
