Clasps for Additional Long Service
Additional Service Clasp for DLSM
Each clasp is awarded for subsequent five-year service periods after 15 years of service in the ADF.
The clasp is struck in cupronickel, featuring the relevant Royal Cypher in the centre, flanked by sprigs of wattle.
- EIIR cypher: for clasps qualified before 6 May 2023.
- CRIII cypher: for clasps qualified after 6 May 2023.
When the ribbon is worn alone, clasps are indicated by nickel-plated round rosettes. On the fifth award (the fourth clasp), a silver miniature Federation Star replaces the rosettes. Each additional Federation Star represents a further five years’ service.
How many to order
Order one clasp for each clasp earned, in each size you need. Choose Full size + miniature if you need both.
The ribbon bar is different: it shows rosettes for up to 3 clasps, then Federation Stars replace the rosettes from the fourth clasp. Rosettes and stars are the same whatever the cypher, so order them from Rosettes & Federation Stars.
| Clasps earned | Clasps per medal | Ribbon bar devices |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | 1 round rosette |
| 2 | 2 | 2 round rosettes |
| 3 | 3 | 3 round rosettes |
| 4 | 4 | 1 Federation Star |
| 5 | 5 | 2 Federation Stars |
| 6 | 6 | 3 Federation Stars |
| 7 | 7 | 4 Federation Stars |
If your clasps were earned either side of 6 May 2023, order each clasp in the cypher for its own qualifying date.
