Preserve History – Swing Mounting for Original Medals
Each original medal carries a unique story worth preserving. With over 20 years of experience restoring full-size and miniature medals, I personally dismantle, clean, and remount every piece by hand — treating each one with the same precision, respect, and care it deserves.
Whenever possible, I recommend restoring original medals to museum standard and then keeping them safely stored for future generations. Original medals are irreplaceable. Although I swing-mount them to full official specification, I don’t advise wearing them to public events; a matching replica set is the better choice for regular wear and allows you to honour the originals without risk. The privilege of receiving a replica set worn by the original recipient should also not be undervalued.

Important Notes
- Maximum swing-mounted set: up to 5 original full-size medals or 12 original miniature medals.
- Swing mounting is not suitable for current serving ADF members. If you need a wearable set for active service, please choose a court-mounted option.
- This service is for original medals only. If you are sending replicas, please use the Recycling Existing Replicas collection instead.
- All restoration work is performed by hand by me — no outsourcing, no shortcuts.

Remounting Existing Medals
To remount an existing set, select the size of the medals you have and the quantity of medals you have in each size.
For example: if you have 3 existing full size medals that you would like remounted on a brooch bar then select Original / Marches & Ceremonies then 3 for Quantity.

If you need to add new awards to your rack, select the number of existing medals you have in each size and add them to your cart, then proceed to add your new awards in the size/s you need to the cart (and select the swing-mounting option). The prices of our new replicas include the supply and mounting of each medal.

Court or Swing Mount?
Both styles still have a brooch bar on the back to enable them to be worn on clothing. If none of the above criteria are relevant to your order, you are free to go with personal preference.
